Iowa's Gaming Industry Supports Iowa Businesses

Supporting economic development is a central theme in the mission of the Iowa Gaming Association members. This is why we advocate the Buy Iowa First program, allowing Iowa-based vendors to be competitive in bidding with out-of-state businesses. Price, distribution, volume, storage and quality of the requested product or service are all factors in the decision-making process.

Iowa Casino and Track Vendors

In 2010, Iowa's commercial riverboat and racetrack casinos purchased nearly $250 million worth of products and services from companies based in our state. This is a clear indication of our commitment to Iowa businesses. In fact, nearly 86% of the total expenditures by Iowa's 17 casinos on products, supplies and services available in our state was with Iowa-based vendors.
